Sonnet to those who fight

Woho, the poet in me have created something new ;)
The second Sonnet I've ever written, and the first one I wrote with a friend...
So this might be crap...

Anyway, here's Sonnet to those who fight;

I wished so long for my days to start
To find the one that would be my light
And when I found you, I knew it was right
I knew it deep inside my heart

We had to make sure that it wouldn’t fall apart
Day by day by day we had to fight
Because keeping love burning is an art
Oh and we struggled with all our might

But then you were gone my friend
The time took you, and maybe time will mend
The jokes we shared and the laughter I miss

Maybe some day, I will be able to see
Those memories are good, and free
And I’ll remember with a smile, our first kiss
